About this manual. Every screen in this manual is a real screenshot of the application. The organisation, customers, suppliers and amounts shown are demonstration data; your own figures will differ. Where a screen depends on your role or subscription plan, the manual says so.
Personal information is not published. The screenshots are processed before they are published: names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, tax numbers, bank account numbers and any link that carries a token are blurred. What remains is the layout and the workflow.
This is a living manual. The online copy at https://accounting.reddot.nz/Manual is rebuilt every time a feature is added, so it always describes the release you are running. The PDF and the Word-style page breaks of this document are for printing.
How to use this manual
- Bold text is a button, menu item or field label you will see on screen.
- Notes, rules and warnings appear in tinted boxes; they explain behaviour that is easy to miss.
- Figures are numbered by section (Figure 4.9 is the ninth figure in section 4) and show the real screen at the point in the workflow where you need it.
- Section 12 summarises what each role may do; section 13 answers the most common questions; section 15 lists every screen and its route.
- If you are setting up a new organisation, read sections 2 and 3 first; if you are doing the books, keep sections 4 to 8 open.
- Online: read the same manual at https://accounting.reddot.nz/Manual. Type in the search box at the top of any page (or press / or Ctrl + K) and the manual jumps straight to the section that answers the question.
- Stuck? Ask your organisation Owner or Administrator first, then e-mail [email protected] with the organisation name and the screen you were on.
